“Requiem” is one of the more tranquil tracks of the Final Fantasy: Tactics soundtrack. I wanted to create something incredibly relaxing and ambient, while still maintaining the somber tone of the original piece. I ended up creating an arrangement that combines electronic and acoustic elements for a hybrid soundscape.
A lot of this arrangement was created by experimenting with different types of synth and lead instrument combinations. In the end, the piano and cello were chosen to take up the melody, with the remaining instruments providing backup. I like how this arrangement came out as a whole, and I hope others enjoy it as well.
