Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec, an incredibly hard phrase to remember, is an Anagram of “Succession of Witches” With a devilish title, haunting crossover of Middle-Eastern instruments and powerful choirs, the symphonic metal rendition had to contain and flaunt all of Uematsu’s finest tools. Swiggles implemented a huge choir including Tera Catallo as well as Swiggles’ vocals, humongous virtual orchestration, and of course a progressive-metal approach to powering the melodies and rhythm section. Having to switch computers half-way, FLWV nearly perished in production until a complete make-over was finished. The guitar solo and the majority of the choral section took close to over 100 takes collectively, working to balance the different styles at play and achieve both orchestral “fluidity” and intense metal tightness. The final improvisational solo is a huge homage to Steve Vai’s Sound Theories Vol. 1 & II which incorporate lead guitar performance with symphonic complementing. Altogether, the track is a work to beat any Swiggles made before.
