Ami is one of my favorite tracks in the entire FFVIII OST. It’s one of the lesser known tracks, but it conveys a quiet and emotive atmosphere, perfectly in line with the game itself. Because of this, it is one of the most nostalgic tracks I can think of in any Final Fantasy title. This arrangement is straightforward, mostly utilizing a piano, harp, and violin trio. The orchestra adds a few flourishes here and there, but in general this piece is an understated but beautiful window into the characters and world of Final Fantasy VIII.
