Back in 2010, Josh Whelchel wrote a synth pop song called "Shine Tonight" based on Fragments of Memories from Final Fantasy VIII. I really liked the song, so much that I arranged it for mixed choir the next year and recorded it for the "Songs for the Cure" cancer fundraiser project. Fast forward four years and I'm being offered a place on the second Materia album. This became a great opportunity to go back to my old arrangement and, having been recently acquainted with the excellent Stockholm-based vocal quartet Limited Edition, it was only natural to record the new version of my arrangement together with them.
