Heart of a Champion is a romantic but stoical interpretation of ‘The Blitzers’, which incorporates the main melody of Tidus’ theme. The light, melodic interplay of the violin and piano suggest the carefree and purehearted nature of the character, while the ups and downs reflect his emotional tribulations throughout the story. The final resolution of the piece, incorporating melodies from the prelude of Final Fantasy, depicts Tidus’ ultimate transformation into a strong, determined hero.
