After getting a track I had planned on doing denied, I chose an ambient track from the pick of leftovers a week or so after the brunt of track selection took place. Twilight was a very interesting track to work with because the OST tune is simply 13 very strange chords repeated ad infinitum. A full (jazz) analysis of the chords was simply a mess! What ended up happening is I voiced the chords as best as I could for 10 violins, 4 celli, and 4 basses, and added a bit of piano and percussion, all recorded separately in a gorgeous concert hall and then mixed together. What came out is nothing short of my largest and most expansive arrangement yet as well as my first time overseeing all of the details of mixing and production!
