Cloister of Trials in an eerie dungeon setting? The Trials/Palace of Ordeal is originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu. Inspired by FFXV dungeon music, I hope to use live piano/harp/cello/violin to create a haunting, unsettling yet graceful version of The Trials. The process of transforming into an entirely different genre is very challenging and time-consuming. I attempted to create a melancholy, haunting version of the track, based on the bouncy, quirky feel of the original. However, only certain part of the melody could fit into this genre type, which gives me an opportunity to explore other possibilities/musical ideas that could potentially make it work! My ultimate notion is to, perhaps create a stage music that could be played if there is a Cloister of Trials in FFXV. Thoughts? I’m utterly grateful to have Andrew Stern’s (Cello) and Andrew Steffen’s (Violin) gorgeous playing on my track. Their beautiful, expressive dynamics have brought the track up to a whole new level!
