Pac-man is truly one of the most bizarre icons of our age. It is universally recognized as a symbol of computer games, and yet it defies coherent narrative description. “There’s this maze, you see, with little white dots of food, only there are also ghosts who will eat you - or be eaten - in a kind of digital pseudo-spiritual ecosystem… um… where are you going?”
In this piece, based on themes from both “Pac-man” and “Ms. Pac-man”, some of the zaniness of the game is brought to life, while also giving it that vague sense of deeper meaning that “Pac-man” deserves.
