The Nightmare accompanies a dream sequence in which the succubus poses as Alucard’s mother at the moment she’s being burned alive by an angry mob. As the nightmare unfolds, it becomes apparent to him that his memory is being manipulated, exposing the monster for the blight she is. Alucard battles her and sentences her to an eternity in hell. It is during this scene that the reasons behind Alucard’s motivation are first revealed. The first half of this track is somewhat of an original composition; however, it indeed references several motifs within Alucard’s theme, “The Tragic Prince”. The 2nd half is an arrangement of “Enchanted Banquet” - yes, the one we did with chickens last time! If you have the chance, play this track along with the scene. We scored it in time with the sequence!
