Lux Aeterna combines classical musical traditions with the inspirational harmonies found throughout Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture. “Lux Aeterna” literally means “light eternal”, and is standard liturgy in the Catholic requiem mass. It was originally imagined as a scene for Kate (from Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture) wherein she would sing or recite these words, both to admire the Pattern’s beauty, and to grieve the dead.
