For this piece, I wanted to have a very simple, two-instrument piece based on the "Tone Poems" albums. These albums combined some guitar and mandolin greats like Tony Rice, Jerry Garcia, and David Grisman to create relaxing duets, and I wanted to take that energy and apply it to this piece. Part bluegrass, part folk, part oppressive Nietzsche-esque religious society - it's all there.
