Home of the Gumon is an incredibly beautiful orchestral piece composed by Gareth Coker in Ori and the Blind Forest. Inspired by the extraordinary blend of virtual/real instruments and ambience, I attempt to recreate the piece using available synthetic instruments/effects, incorporating real instruments such as harp, bansuri, oboe, english horn and flute. I hope to impart a mysterious, ominous feel to the arrangement using harp techniques. There are just so much more variety of elements in original soundtrack, that I hope I could do the track at least close to justice.
I would like to thank Sebastian Wolff for suggesting/leading the album! It had been a few hectic days working on the arrangement given the tight deadline, and I love every single moment of it! It drives me to be more productive! Thank you to my amazing collaborator, Kristin Naigus for the beautiful recording.
