Windy Hill Zone is originally an amazingly rich and vibrant orchestrated piece from Sonic Lost World OST, which is later also being adapted in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. I could not help but to fall in love with the track once I heard it! I have the honour to collaborate with Jordan Chin, an incredibly talented musician on this wonderful, catchy tune.
I attempt to recreate the piece using piano as the base arrangement, then liven up the piece further using rich orchestrations including harp, as well as ambience effects. Not to mention, Jordan’s contributions to the track with his expertise in bass, guitars and drums has brought the track up to a whole new level. This fast-paced arrangement is a mashup of Windy Hill Zone and Wonder World (main theme from Sonic Lost World), and is the most challenging piece I have worked on by far. I hope you enjoy it!
I would like to thank my collaborator, Jordan Chin on his amazing instrumental playing, without which the arrangement would not be complete. I would also like to thank Stephen Froeber and John Montoya for leading the project.
