Near the tail end of production for this album, a list of tracks freed up. Chemical Plant Zone from was one of them and I immediately dove in, forsaking any free time I already didn’t have because this tune is just so dern catchy. John Montoya had also claimed Chemical at the same time I did, so the powers that be agreed to let us both do arrangements as long as they were ‘different enough’. John Chose to do a rave techno version, so due to time constraints, and the jazzy fun of the original music, I decided this would be a great chance to slow the melody down and tackle it in a classic Peggy Lee. So here we go… layers of me singing some doo dah dah dahhs to one of my favorite tunes from Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Gotta go fast, so I can proudly say that somehow I got the bulk of this done done in less than two hours, and thanks to Nathaniel Chambers also being up super late before the deadline helping with two additional hours of mixing and helping provide accompaniment. One last minute adopted track done in four hours? Seems we took the Sonic go-fast spirit to heart on this one;)
