Sonic Unleashed is one of the modern Sonic games which has received a lot of criticism because the gameplay departs from the norm of the series. I wanted to highlight that this game actually has a very interesting soundtrack.
In Sonic Unleashed, Sonic travels to different parts of the world. “A Night in Old Spagonia” is based on the night theme that is heard when Sonic visits the town of Spagonia, which is largely inspired by France, Spain, and Italy. This inspiration can be clearly heard throughout the piece. This arrangement puts together a unique collection of instruments and is written to highlight the distinguishing characteristics of each instrument.
