"The Metroid franchise has always shined in its world-building and ominous sense of atmosphere, so what better way to capture the alien thrill of space then with the vast sounds and timbres of a lone piano? From the heroic trek through Brinstar to the mystery of Kraid’s Lair and the impending dread of hunting Ridley, this album aims to encapsulate the ride of emotions that Metroid is praised for and bring them into a concert setting. Here, the eerie synths of the original soundtrack are replicated in moodiness with several meticulously crafted piano arrangements that will give you the same chills you know and love.
Personally, this album started as a slow-burning passion project as I picked up several iconic Metroid songs over the years and paid homage to them as a Metroid fan via putting my own piano spins to them. Finally, after years of arranging, recording, and re-recording, I’m very proud of the finalized product that I’ve been able to perform and the journey (both in Metroid and for me as a pianist) I’ve been able to depict through it. I hope you all enjoy my renditions of these classic Metroid songs, maybe listening to these tracks can hold us a little while longer until Metroid Prime 4 finally releases!"
