Honestly, I can’t tell you how many countless hours I’ve spent listening to the Fairy Fountain music on repeat in the menus of every Zelda title since Link to the Past (hint: it’s a shockingly astronomical number). It was, quite shamelessly, my “adult lullaby” for many, many years and after long fantasizing about how I would arrange it were I ever to muster up the courage to do so, it dawned on me that I had always known how I ultimately would approach the track; and it certainly helped that Link is almost always a lazy, sleeping boy when we meet him… shortly after having created our save file to this very theme in the menu, no less. So I crafted something out of a dream I must have had a thousand times over.
