Like we did with our contributions to Overclocked Remix’s FF6 “Balance & Ruin* album, we wanted to take our tracks and turn them into 80s pop songs. The Turks theme is simple enough – those percussion elements, the simple bassline riff – that we were able to build a pretty catchy song on top of it without losing the soul of the song. We wrote “Not Just Another Girl” from the viewpoint of a member of the Turks. What if Reno or one of the others had a love interest waiting for them in their home town? “Power,” our rendition of the Shinra Inc. theme, is a 1%er diatribe against corporate greed done in the style of a late-80s spoken word jam.
