One of my dirty little secrets is that I've actually never played Final Fantasy VII. However, I know the whole game pretty well from beginning to end. My siblings used to play it for hours every time we came back from school, and I just stared at the screen, watching the story and listening to the wonderful music. As it happens with almost everything in our childhood, Final Fantasy VII became a strong influence on me.
This Remix for "Let the Battles Begin!" it's made on an 80's style. I must confess that I've been hitted hard by Kung Fury, Perturbator and pretty much everything that comes from the New Retro Wave movement. Picking up all those references for this arrangement seemed like a good chance to transform an iconic videogame song into something completely different and unexpected.
"I was going back in time to kill Sephiroth, but I accidentally went too far back in time. Ended up in this place."
