As a huge fan of Russian classical music, I have always sought inspiration (and raw material) from this genre. This piece draws heavily from two of Rachmaninoff’s piano preludes (as well as his Cello sonata) and I envisioned this as a piece to be played on stage with a grand piano, and with Yo-Yo Ma. I would like to thank my wife Alden for supporting this hobby of mine! I would like to thank Ruby Toung for always being willing to try out my crazy transcriptions.
