Recording Notes: The game’s themes are medieval fantasy, friendship, and redemption. So you can come up with an original song that you think fits within the world of Final Fantasy IV. Turns out that Cecil and his brother, Golbez, are Lunarians, people from this moon. So we’ll probably have some sort of song title that incorporates memories, reflections, Lunarians, etc.

Track Commentary: I love to include our arrangers’ original pieces inspired by the music for all of our arrangement projects. I definitely hear the Spanish influences here which add a romantic element, but at the same time, a strong sense of tragedy. Brothers separated and drawn together again only to fight one another, a love triangle between best friends, a descent into darkness and redemption, while FINAL FANTASY IV seems lighthearted on the surface, there’s some deep stuff here, and “Crystals” captures it all..
