Recording Notes: You’ve already done this one, but Rydia is a girl in the town of summoned monsters. Basically, early in the game, Cecil is tasked with bringing a package to that town. He encounters a mist dragon guarding the exit of the cave leading to the town, and defeats it. Turns out that mist dragon was Rydia’s mother (they summon monsters to fight for them), and when you arrive, the package opens and burns the entire town. Rydia, a little girl, is the only survivor, and you take her with you. So basically you’re responsible for murdering her mom and everyone in the town, so the theme is about an innocent little girl whose innocence is shattered. Throughout the course of the game she matures, though, even beyond most of the characters in the game when she goes to the Illusionary World (another track) where time flows differently, and she ages pretty significantly to around the same age as the other characters.
Track Commentary: We love Rydia! Her theme is so sweet and innocent and is perfect for the guitar. It might be even more touching than “Theme of Love!”
