"I’ve always enjoyed the Piano Collections FINAL FANTASY series. There’s a certain purity and consistency that the series offers, and I’ve always wondered why Squaresoft (then Square Enix) never duplicated it with other instruments. I have a personal preference for the sound of the guitar, and after having listened to the various CDs that accompany the FINAL FANTASY guitar sheet music books and being unimpressed, I knew it was time to delve in.

I wanted to start with FINAL FANTASY IV, just as the Piano Collections series did. Also, it’s my favorite FINAL FANTASY game, with so many wonderful pieces of music, that I knew I was going to have a hard time narrowing it down to just 11 tracks. I also knew based on William Carlos Reyes’s past arrangements that he’d be perfect for this project with his ability to layer his performances in a very natural and pleasing way, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
