I was unfamiliar with DKR upon joining this project, so it was my first time hearing "Pirate Lagoon." As I imagined how it might sound in EDM form, I was inspired by the intense, pure joy that radiated from the work of Naofumi Hataya (Sonic Heroes, NiGHTS); so I remixed the track with that feeling in mind.
