When Andrew initially proposed the boss battle theme as a high-energy acoustic arrangement, the idea was so tantalizing I just couldn't say no. Being classically trained musicians, it was definitely an interesting challenge for us to translate rock band to violin/cello/piano trio, and in the end it ended up being a rather virtuosic chamber music thing which Andrew dubbed the FF9 Triple Concerto lol. We drew inspiration from Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, and Hindemith, meaning there were a lot of very tough passages we had to practice to be able to play. Huge thanks to Patti for going along with our craziness and Jacob for pulling all our tracks together to make us sound awesome!
