In this arrangement of “Schala’s Theme”, Julia Henderson uses a lush ensemble of strings, percussion, and piano to underscore an ethereal yet deeply melancholic melody. A middle section introduces impressionistic lyric and harmonic writing, echoing the uncertainty of Schala’s fate and exploring the eternal nature of the human soul.
