<span style="font-family: Arial; white-space: pre-wrap;">Liz Rishel regularly performs roles for Coloratura Soprano, and has an undying passion for modern, accessible opera. In October of 2010, she and artistic partner Bonnie Bogovich composed, produced and performed their own original multi-media opera entitled Evenings in Quarantine: The Zombie Opera, which ran in Pittsburgh for three consecutive seasons. Liz and Bonnie teamed up again along with a team of other opera singers in 2014 to produce a parody opera entitled Super Smash Opera, in which they re-lyricise opera’s most beloved tunes tell the story of classic game characters competing in a fighting tournament. The project debuted at MAGfest 2015.
Liz is currently working on a new opera film project, a steampunk ghost story set in Industrial Revolution Pittsburgh, designed for a rock band of opera singers. The project is entitled Steam ~ or ~ The Specters of the Knox Mill. Liz worked for Undercroft Opera on a team that re-lyricised the opera Don Giovanni to fit together with inspirations from Bram Stoker's Dracula, and performed the role of Zerlina inspired by Lucy from the novel. Liz performed on previous Materia albums as a chorister and and chicken soloist. Liz teaches private voice lessons and sews for business or pleasure, occasionally working with independent filmmakers and cosplayers. Her favorite roles include The Queen of the Night (The Magic Flute), Yum-Yum (The Mikado), and Mabel (Pirates of Penzance).</span>
