Julia Seeholzer takes much of her compositional influence from color – intervalic relationships conjure specific hues, which in turn dictate a piece’s direction. Her works have been commissioned and performed by the Urban Playground Chamber Orchestra, University of Chicago’s Camerata, the Tenuto Chamber Singers, WomenSing, Trio d’Esprit, and others. Julia currently lives in Warsaw, Poland, where she studies advanced choral writing with Paweł Łukaszewski, under a 2015-2017 Fulbright research grant. Her main projects involve writing pieces for and performing with Professor Łukaszewski’s choir, Musica Sacra.

Outside of composing, Julia is heavily involved in the world of video game music. After founding, running, and arranging for a game music-specific choir for three years, she now regularly works on arrangements and collaborations for various projects. Julia often works with the Videri String Quartet, and has contributed to both the Harmony of Heroes and Spectrum of Mana projects.
