Andrew Stern graduated from Coe College with a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance in 2008, additionally earning a Performer’s Certificate for exceptional work with both the Coe Music Department and outside ensembles. He additionally earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from Coe in 2011. By day, he works as a Senior Software Engineer for Collins Aerospace; by night, he enjoys games of all varieties with friends and family when he is not moonlighting as a professional cellist (or trying to convince his 7-year-old daughter that princesses can also be geeks).Andrew is currently a section cellist with Orchestra Iowa and has previously performed with Emanuel Ax, Harry Connick Jr., Branford Marsalis, Tommy Tallarico (with Video Games Live), Mannheim Steamroller, Emily Bear, the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony, the Dubuque Symphony, the La Crosse Symphony, and the Ivalice Trio. He also performs with various college and church ensembles in the Cedar Rapids area.Andrew has enjoyed video game music since he received his first console at 5 years old. He is delighted to share his love of VGM with a wider audience through projects with Materia Collective and friends, whether as an individual performer or as a member of The ETHEReal String Orchestra or The Travelers VGM.
